For countless conflicts that our forefathers found themselves caught up in, the only information they divulged when taken prisoner was –Name – Rank – Serial number.
Many were brutally tortured or paid with their lives sticking to this principle.
Now though we have the spectra of our servicemen openly allowing themselves to be pawns and mouthpieces for corrupt regimes that are enemies of this country.
The present situation with Iran is fuelled by our overall lack of backbone as a country to have rules of engagement that have any real teeth, and our servicemen to honour the soldier’s code.
Before anyone complains and says it’s easy sitting in an armchair being brave just remember that these men and women signed up to the forces, and since time and memorial being in service means danger.
These are supposed to be professionals, trained and prepared for all aspects of the theatre of war, if they are not prepared to make a stand in this situation then what’s going to happen in a certain death fire fight?
Just another humiliation for this country with its lack of honour and patriotism, instilled in the people through PC and multicultural levelling down of all that was once proud and great.

White horse have you every served in the armed forces?
As an ex Royal Navy Medic with 12 years service please let me explain a thing or 2.
1:Royal Navy personnel DO NOT RECIEVE POW training. Only Aircrew will have had some form of training!
2: Since when did we declare war with Iran! I failed to have missed that! Oh thats right we not! so name rank and number doesnt matter!
3: I would do anything in my power to come home and see my family again, Apart from give operational information, but being so far down in the loop i wouldnt have had a clue anyway!
4:These service personnel were hostages, Not POWs, as we have seen many times before hostages and pows have been used on TV to try and promote the cause, but the majority fail!
5 On the tv broadcast that i saw, I did'nt see them give nay Operational Information away!!!!!
Yes they did sign on the piece of paper to say that they would fight for there country, and yes 99% are ready to die for us. But again I must stress, we are not at war with Iran.
1 point i would like to say, is the goverment messed up big time by allowing the sevice personnel to sell there storys, this is the bit that makes me feel ashamed at our forces today, that these guys were happy to make a quick pound!!! So I do agree with you about the pride and honour
regards

White horse have you every served in the armed forces? hi roger, royal artillery...
As an ex Royal Navy Medic with 12 years service please let me explain a thing or 2.
1:Royal Navy personnel DO NOT RECIEVE POW training. Only Aircrew will have had some form of training! In our armed forces long history the practical training servicemen receive vis-à-vis capture has evolved from very basic chin out stiff upper lip to all the rigors of experiencing psychological and physical trauma. But long before this our soldiers who were a conscripted army would never have so willingly sung like canaries.
2: Since when did we declare war with Iran! I failed to have missed that! Oh thats right we not! so name rank and number doesnt matter! That’s not how Iran sees it, they believe they are in a war with the West and what our servicemen did may appear of little consequence, however the way the enemies of this country see it, is that we are weak and ripe for the taking. Also those in the hot war against us would be emboldened even more by what they see as weakness.
3: I would do anything in my power to come home and see my family again, Apart from give operational information, but being so far down in the loop i wouldnt have had a clue anyway! There is a bigger picture and just to say it’s alright to do anything apart from operational info completely misses what constitutes a conflict, and the consequences of our actions on others.
4:These service personnel were hostages, Not POWs, as we have seen many times before hostages and pows have been used on TV to try and promote the cause, but the majority fail! I am afraid whether you use the term hostage or pow the end issue is the same, to the Arab world these were armed servicemen of a foreign power captured in territory belonging to Iran who Iran was able with ease to humiliate. The whole issue from how they became to be captured to how they seemingly so willingly danced to the tune of their hosts, their accepting gifts with such relish etc, the army content was supposed to be from one of this countries elite fighting forces, a country that claims to have one of the best trained armies in the world!
5 On the tv broadcast that i saw, I did'nt see them give nay Operational Information away!!!!! I don’t believe it to be of little importance? What do you think the young Iraqi boy who is fed a diet of Western decadence and dishonour thinks? They don’t see it as unimportant but empowering, and just another reason that eases him from the sidelines into violent action against our troops. Also not just them but their spiritual brothers in this country!
Yes they did sign on the piece of paper to say that they would fight for there country, and yes 99% are ready to die for us. But again I must stress, we are not at war with Iran. No one made them join, this is part of being a solider, you could get killed, captured, tortured.
1 point i would like to say, is the goverment messed up big time by allowing the sevice personnel to sell there storys, this is the bit that makes me feel ashamed at our forces today, that these guys were happy to make a quick pound!!! So I do agree with you about the pride and honour

Please get hold of “Fighting Mad” By Mike Calvert. This is how soldiers of our country should behave and how our young (Conscripted) men who faced an evil and ruthless enemy acted with courage, these men had families they wanted to come home to, many of them never did.
Best wishes
